Private journeys designed for two
Ancient cities, misty tea country, wild landscapes and time beside the Indian Ocean—combined in one private journey paced around the two of you.
One island, many moods
Sri Lanka rewards couples who want more than a fly-and-flop beach holiday. In one carefully paced trip you can explore ancient rock fortresses, travel through tea country, take a private wildlife drive and finish beside the ocean.
The island is compact, but road journeys can be slower than the map suggests. Good honeymoon planning is therefore about choosing the right sequence, limiting unnecessary hotel changes and protecting time to enjoy each place together.
A private tour gives you control over the rhythm. Start later after a long dinner, pause at a viewpoint, add a spa afternoon or spend another hour at a hotel you love—without negotiating a group timetable.
The result is a journey that feels varied without becoming exhausting: culture when you want discovery, wildlife for shared adventure, and a coast selected for the season.
A starting point, never a fixed template
This route balances major highlights with breathing room. We can shorten it, slow it down, change the coast or replace any experience.

Climb Sigiriya after the official opening, explore Dambulla’s cave temples and leave time for a pool afternoon or village experience. See the Sigiriya and Dambulla tour.
Visit the Temple of the Tooth respectfully, explore the gardens and consider a private cooking experience or relaxed evening performance.
Travel through highland scenery by road and, when suitable tickets are available, by train. Walk to viewpoints, visit a tea estate and enjoy cooler evenings.
Take a private jeep safari and stay close enough to avoid an unnecessarily early long-distance transfer. Wildlife sightings remain wonderfully unpredictable.
Finish with Galle Fort, quiet coves, spa time and unstructured beach days—or choose the east coast when its seasonal conditions are more suitable.

Personal details
Special arrangements should be requested before travel. Availability, weather and local operating conditions can affect what is possible.
Accommodation
For honeymooners, the right hotel is not simply the one with the most stars. A restored heritage house, tea-estate bungalow or small coastal retreat may feel more memorable than a large resort.
Tell us your nightly budget, whether you prefer privacy or facilities, and any non-negotiables. Your proposal will name the recommended hotels and room basis.
Weather-aware planning
Sri Lanka can work throughout the year when the coast and route are chosen around its different monsoon patterns.
December to March is commonly favoured for Galle, Bentota, Mirissa and the south-west. These dates are popular, so boutique hotels benefit from earlier booking.
From roughly May to September, east-coast areas such as Trincomalee, Nilaveli and Pasikudah can offer an attractive alternative alongside the Cultural Triangle.
Weather is never guaranteed. Sea conditions, monsoon timing and whale-watching operations vary, so we avoid promising a specific marine sighting or fixed season far in advance.

Travel conditions can change. UK travellers should review current FCDO advice for Sri Lanka and arrange suitable travel insurance before departure.
Frequently asked questions
The south and west coasts are commonly favoured from December to March, while the east coast can suit trips from roughly May to September. A year-round itinerary is possible when the route follows current regional conditions.
Three to six months gives you a stronger choice of smaller boutique hotels, particularly around Christmas, New Year and the European winter. Shorter lead times can still work with flexibility.
Yes. A common combination is 10 to 12 nights touring Sri Lanka followed by a Maldives beach stay. We plan the Sri Lanka portion and can help you think through the international connection, while Maldives accommodation and entry requirements should be confirmed separately.
Sri Lanka welcomes many couples and honeymooners, but every traveller should follow current official advice, respect local customs and use suitable travel insurance. A private driver-guide also simplifies transport throughout your route.
We can recommend comfortable, boutique, heritage or luxury properties. The right mix depends on budget and priorities; many couples spend more on a few standout stays and choose simpler hotels elsewhere.
Yes. Around two weeks supports a comfortable combination of culture, hill country, wildlife and beach. With fewer nights, we recommend removing a region rather than rushing through all four.
